Goodie...bagged

meaning that i purchased my tickets to see Goodie Mob this Saturday. You should be there, for real. I mean come on its only $40.00 and they are well worth it. Personally, I am convinced that the entire DF will make an appearance. Yesterday the Mob took a Marta tour of their stomping ground to promote the concert. Again, you should be there. Anyway, i am not gonna waste anymore of my minutes trying to convince you of their greatness. If you are not familiar, there is nothing more I can say.

Dinner

this is completely random, but i made an AWESOME chicken philly for dinner tonite. I did it all from scratch too and guess what, it cost me only $5.20 to make. I had the rolls, onion and cheese at home; put a purchase on some chicken tenderloins ($4.50) and bell pepper (0.50) and voila, we have all the ingredients. So I seasoned and sauteed 2 tenderloins in a non stick skillet with a small amount of oil. Placed a lid on it so the steam could cook the meat as it was pan frying. Once done, i removed the chicken and let it rest. I then sliced some onion, bell pepper and mushrooms and added them to the skillet with chicken juices and oil. Turned the heat down to low, covered the skillet and let the veggies cook slowly, about 6 minutes. I then chopped up the chicken, added it to the veggies in the skillet and mixed it around a bit. Then i placed some cheese on top of the veggie/chicken mix, covered with a lid and let it melt. Once all melty i scooped it up and slid the mixture into a soft roll that i cut just enough to make into a pocket. The results...a cheesy, flavorful and filling sandwich. It was so much i could only eat half. I will go back for the other half later on tonite if my stomach says so...LOL. It would be nice to have a picture but the camera is dead and you know i can't find the charger. Oh well, you will have to just take my word for it.

Daddy Day Care

Father's, play with your daughters. they aren't hard to please. tell em that you love them. show them how a man is supposed to handle his. i guarantee they will hear you and it will stick for a lifetime. my best lessons were learned from my dad and my best memories often include him.

Today is my daddy's birthday. Happy Birthday DADDY!!!!

former flames...current ashes

it humors me, really it does. oh yeah, i am talking about ex-boyfriends trying to bring that old thing back...LAME! once i am done, i am done. now, i am cordial, i will even hang out with an ex but I AM NOT sleeping with you again, sorry sir. what kills me is when they want to talk about the good times we had, yeah HAD, meaning in the past.

maybe i shouldn't hang out with any of them, perhaps that gives them illusions of grandeur and hope for things to cum ;). maybe its the fact that my breakups are usually a peaceful dissolution, never a loud "fuck you, i can't stand you" experience. besides, i am always friends with anyone i have been in a relationship with and i have the ability to see that ex-man as just a friend after a breakup. now how they see me may be totally different and is beyond my control but i know what the limits are and don't cross them.

♥ ♥

what do i want? this is a question i ask myself often. there are two areas this applies to, life and love. and yes, i want them both. thankfully, i know what its like to experience them both so if i left now i would really be cool, honestly!

so i am approaching 30 and its time for me to get serious. i always make interesting choices in relationships. i don't regret any of them because really each one has taught me something but i am not going back to any of them. so from my past experiences come my present conclusions. i want a MAN. this is not determined by age, but by actions. i'm not gonna get into my definition of a man, but know that i was raised by my dad so i know wassup!

when it comes to children, i definitely want some. but on top of being a mother, i want to be a parent. i am all about raising children. that means my natural children or those through marriage or even adoption. if i do not have children by 35 then its a wrap. i have never been pregnant so when it does happen, it's no way i would terminate. too late in the game for that option, plus at this point its not an "oops" situation.

so this dating thing is so funny. its something i am having to reacquaint myself with. i am certain i am doing some parts of this wrong, but i am enjoying it. i figure if it feels good, do it, with moderation, LOL. i'm not gonna get into the details of my present company, but know that i'm cool ;)

...

yep, so i'm back. i have pin curled my hair, put on the lounge wear and now doing this but only after doing....that ;)

listening to kid cudi. this one been out for a while, i'm just gettin it but I got it. its riding, he is versatile. i could link u to it but then what fun would that be?

can you believe that Publix wanted $5.99 + tax for a box of Newport lights? Oh hell no! that is a "what the fuck" moment, for real.

these people at my job are crazy as hell. got people round here working hard to "keep" their job. its wild. i work hard because i don't mind working and in return for my work i get money. i'on know man, i got to do something else other than this. i want to go back to school for certification. i also would like to just be in beautiful places with warm people...

hey there, remember me?

ha ha! no, but seriously, how are you doing? me, well i am fine. just coming down off of this wonderful weekend i had. my friday night was cool. i got my hair done then me and my homegirl hit the El No[pal] for margaritas. the place was live as usual. they even had a d.j. that night, too funny!

saturday was good too. i got an early start and did alot of laundry then i said fuck it. the day was GEORGEOUS. i couldn't spend it all in the house so i went to a lil BBQ with the old heads. they are always so much fun. i would love to recant some of the conversations but you had to be there to get the full effect. so after that, me and my homegirl hit a house party. that was real cool, once we found the place. old girl moved out to the damn sticks. anyway, she had it on deck though. a nice amount of people, plenty of liquor and extras. the jokes were plentiful too. after the house party we hit a after hours spot that was hosting a tribute to Outkast. It was real cool cause $20 took care of the cover, endless drinks and a buffet. yes, i said buffet. so the Nappy roots performed and this dude named Aleon Craft. got home bout 4 am and it was all good.

today, i had a impromptu BBQ. it was such a beautiful day and the park was calling me. we had a nice spot by the river, BEAUTIFUL. it was only 4 of us but that was all it needed to be. we had bratwurst, hot dogs, chicken wings, baked beans and potato salad...yummy!

It's friday

and i am bored as hell. i have finished all my work and i can't seem to find anything to occupy my time until 5pm. my lunch break was eventful because i had to navigate atlanta traffic in heavy rain and that is not an easy task. now i am back in the office, reclining and blogging. some people may say "what's wrong with that?" well for me this is my most productive time of day so if I am not doing any work it bothers me. well, that's my peace.
